The Rallye des Alpes traditionally starts from Geneva city centre and 2011 is no exception. This year the rallye passes through Zermatt, St Moritz, Seefeld and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
The event is open to cars manufactured between 01.01.1919 and 31.12.1963.
I myself (owner/operator of Deluxe Transfers) participated alongside my dad in 2004 with his 1960,s Mercedes SL Pagoda. Even with my dad’s experience of events like this we didn’t win, however, we did’t come last either.
The alps play host to many car and bike rallyes over the summer months, many of which pass through the town of Chamonix. I will be taking a look at some others over the following weeks.
