The latest news coming from the Mont-Blanc tunnel is that there will be major closures coming from 2023. there are 2 reasons for this, the work planned for2022 is much more complicated than previously thought. Secondly, they have “found” asbestos in the tunnel which legally now has to be removed.
The Closures for 2023 will be for more than three months, the work will start on the 4th of September and go through to the 18th December 2023, and then the same again in 2024.
