Helmet or No Helmet?

The high profile case of German politician Dieter Althaus crashing into a Slovakian women on a mountain in Austria has brought this question back to the surface.  He (Althaus) was wearing a helmet, and survived; she was not.  There are many other cases that should make this question a “no brainer”, however, us helmet wearers are still in the minority.

According to certain consumer research in the UK Helmet purchases are on the increase, 20 percent up on last year.  In Europe wearing a helmet is not law yet but things could be heading that way.  There really is no excuse these days with a decent helmet being well within the price range of every skier/boarder, starting at around 60 Euros and coming in all shapes, sizes and colours.
