During a summer time visit to Geneva many people wish to experience a “bit of the Alps” by seeing some spectacular mountain scenery and maybe even stepping out onto some snow, as well as eating some local produce and buying a few presents.
By far the quickest, highest and most spectacular mountain town to visit from Geneva is Chamonix. Â Located only 1hr from Geneva city centre and with a great highway leading straight into the heart of town there is lots to do for everyone.
There are cable cars open all year round to allow access to viewing platforms, restaurants and high level walks. Â There are tandem paragliding flights, mountain bike tracks, running tracks, sports centres, Spas, Bars, Cafes in fact there is so much going on that a day may not be enough.
