World cup Climbing Championships 2011

Light plane lands on Geneva autoroute!

Recent reports on French news channel TF1 explained how a small “Sesna” airplane needed to make an emergency landing on the Autoroute between Macon and Geneva.  It land without problems on a road that has many tunnels, over head pylons and bridges.

British climber dies in the Mont Blanc Massif

The exact details are still slightly unclear, however, two British climbers on the Frendo Spur got stuck Wednesday and spent the night out.  On Thursday morning when the rescue services were able to get to them one of the climbers had fallen 400m to their death. Source Mont Blanc Radio

Aiguille du Chardonnet fatal fall

On Saturday 4th June a 30 year old German climber was killed whilst coming down the Aiguille du Chardonet, he was caught in a 200 meter snow slide according to reports. His 46 year old climbing partner was uninjured.
